The changes in the business environment have thrown open a world of opportunities and challenges for Management graduates. Multi-disciplinary task forces, effective HRD systems and strong management information systems have become the need of the hour for any firm to sustain itself in a business. As earlier, business conglomerates are no more family run businesses but they rather look forward for well-qualified Management Postgraduates to manage them.

Intelligent Quotient (IQ) has paved the way for Emotional Quotient (EQ) thereby making management-employee relationship even more delicate than in the earlier stages. New concepts like customer relationship management (CRM), E-CRM etc. have cropped up with the advent of boom in the Information Technology sector. Current Managers are under greater scrutiny. Their model behaviorsonly can create the spirit of excellence in the down-line. They need to remain self-motivated. The present day managers have to become more creative, decisive, determined, enterprising, energetic, intelligent and pro-active. The managers are responsible both for discovering and defining their role as well as discharging the same. Success of their organisation is their task and the world does not house magic bullets. One has to create one’s own weapons to win the war.

MBA - master of Business administrationThe Management Postgraduates who specialise in a particular field start their career as middle level managers. Their focus should be mainly on team concept, team management, good interpersonal relationship, stress handling, time management, planning and task orientation. The key to gaining a competitive advantage at a workplace is to lead the team in the right direction by creating an adaptive learning environment that encourages the development of intellectual capital. The greatest challenge for these young management students who aspire to become leaders is the methodology to know how to release the brainpower of their people. A big picture thinking that helps prioritise issues, framing problems and drawing new connections, unshakeable integrity and ultimately priceless good judgment makes a true leader. It is a field, which impinges on many aspects of every day life, and case studies to which they are exposed at the post-graduation level. Consequently individuals who have these knowledge and who are interested in using that knowledge in their work will find a broad spectrum of occupations in which they can do so to prove themselves.
